Melanie Llana, BSN, RN

My daughter has been in the NICU for two months, and Melanie has been one of her nurses during this time. My daughter was born with a rare skin condition. During the time that her skin was peeling off, Melanie made it her goal to ensure she was comfortable. During this time and still today, Melanie treats my daughter like her own. When Melanie is her nurse, she works tirelessly to ensure my daughter has the best care. In everything that Melanie does, she puts my daughter first. Melanie takes time to listen to my questions, and she also takes the time to explain things to me. Melanie also advocates for my daughter when I am unable too. She also helps me and teaches me how to advocate for my daughter. In everything that Melanie does, she goes above and beyond. We would not be surviving this NICU journey, without Melanie by our side. In August 2023, due to Melanie’s quick actions, I believe she saved my daughter when she went into respiratory distress. On this day Melanie did not leave our daughter's side, and she fought for her all day long. There are no other nurses that have cared for my daughter like Melanie has. She is the most selfless and compassionate person.
