Melanie McAfee, RN

Melanie was extremely attentive and caring during the three days my mother had her as her nurse. She has an excellent bedside manner. My mother is 93 years old and was very sad after her fall and had fractured her pelvis. She had been living at home independently, and now she knew that was going to end. Melanie sat with her and then asked your hospital Chaplain to come by. Melanie took care of her physical needs and her emotional needs. She always had a smile on her face and made my mom feel that she was the only patient on the floor. Her nursing skills and attitude were such a positive one. She talked about how much she loved working at Honor and how her supervisors and manager always helped the team. As a nurse, this made me feel comfortable leaving my mom while I went to work at my hospital. Melanie had so much patience and was so caring. Her positive energy and helpfulness were exemplary. I have been a nurse since 1981, and it was warming to see how caring the newer nurses are. Melanie deserves the DAISY Award, and all the thanks for taking amazing, excellent care of my mom!
