My son was unexpectedly admitted to the NICU. He was very sick during his first weeks here. Melanie was his nurse during a very scary time.
Our son began having seizures and Melanie was everything our son needed at that time. She was a comfort to us, informative and supportive when our family couldn't be.
The love for what she does is shown in everything that she did during her time. It gave us comfort to leave the room for some time away, and we knew he was in good hands. She went over and beyond her duties as a nurse to make our darkest times bearable. I know that our experience in the NICU during that time was much easier due to having her as our nurse those days.
A week later, our son had a CAT scan. Melanie was there to make sure he was well taken care of while he was transferred there and back. She was attentive to every need and it gave us comfort knowing she was with him when we couldn't be.
Melanie deserves to be recognized for her tremendous heart and passion for her patients, their families, and her job. We were blessed to have her as our nurse!
