When a patient’s husband of 60-plus years was going on hospice, Melanie took the time to really comfort the wife in such a sweet way. She stayed with the patient’s wife even after he had passed away. She made sure the wife was eating and was being taken care of. As her caretaker, it was admirable to see how caring and compassionate she was in such a difficult time. The time and attention she gave to this patient’s wife are why she is deserving of a DAISY award. After the wife said her goodbyes, Melanie even walked the wife out to her car to make sure she was going to get home ok. Thank you so much, Melanie.
