We have had a patient on our floor for over four months with no family or support system. Melanie orchestrated a birthday party for this patient, bought a cake and presents, and gathered over 30 people together to wish her a happy birthday. The patient was in tears stating, "How did I get so blessed?"
Melanie thought about this patient and worked on her own time to make her feel special and valued, not to mention loved!
