Melinda assisted with an 11-month-old patient in the ED who presented with vomiting and Spanish-speaking parents. The patient had a situation that made it harder to get IV access. Melinda continued to assist and stated to the doctor, "I almost never show doctors dirty diapers, but I think you will want to see this one." There was blood in the diaper! Like CURRANT JELLY! The ultrasound was ordered, and the patient did have INTUSSUSCEPTION!! The patient was transferred to Wesley for pediatric surgery.
