I want to thank Melinda for being a 'top-notch' nurse and all-around person. She made me feel safe, put me at ease from the beginning, and I can't believe how fast she answered that "nurse button" even though my room was not far from the nurse's station. A few hours after I got to my room, Melinda noticed that the entry in my upper-right leg where the incision was made for the scope was leaking blood. She immediately applied pressure to stop the bleeding and called for help. In no time, there were at least six nurses in the room and at least 6 hands applying pressure--instead of 2. After about 20 minutes, Melinda indicated that it was ok to loosely let up on the pressure and the bleeding had indeed stopped! I feel like Melinda's quick response and action very likely saved my life. I don't know how these nurses had the strength to hold pressure on me for that long, but I do know, God is good!
