I was admitted to Baptist Collierville; my admitting nurse was Melinda Blakney. I was scared to death, very sick and was having a horrible time in my life. Melinda took her time to help me and talk to me. While I was still in the hospital, my baby brother (age 31) got hit by a car and was killed. I was distraught, suicidal and did not think I would make it. Your whole staff helped me out but Melinda went above and beyond her duties. She had already clocked out and came back to hold my hand when I was crying and basically losing my mind. She helped me through the worst day of my life. Now, months later, she is my mother's nurse. Melinda has helped her the same way she helped me. Her care and compassion is hard to find. Thank you for every staff member that you have and especially for Melinda. I thank God for her every day because she saved my life.
