Melisha went above and beyond for her new admission yesterday. The patient stated that she has had a rough few months due to her recent cancer diagnosis and her husband leaving her. Melisha looked at the patient's paperwork and realized that her birthday is tomorrow. She proceeded to buy her patient a birthday present, candy, and a thoughtful card to show the patient that she truly cared for her. It lifted the patient's spirits, and the patient was very grateful that someone was thinking about her.
Melisha constantly demonstrates that she is dedicated to her patients and her care through this and countless other acts of kindness for her patients. She is the best example I can think of how a nurse should care for all of their patients.
