I ran across your card today and am just thrilled. I've been meaning to look you up so that I could send you a note of thanks and update on my mom who you helped. My mom is J and I had brought her into Clifton Springs where she spent several days in the ICU detoxing from alcohol. She is a long-time alcoholic and was incredibly malnourished and at rock bottom. You were so wonderful to us. Incredibly compassionate, understanding, supportive and resourceful. All without judgment. I can't thank you and the staff at Clifton enough for all the help and support you gave my mom.
From the ICU she went to an in-house physical rehab for about a week. I'm happy to report that she has not had a drink since and is a whole new woman! She has her health, strength, mind, and spirit back. It's really amazing. I knew she could do it if we could just get her detoxed and her head clear. She is an incredibly strong, smart, and determined woman. She has not had any alcohol-specific rehab or counseling, just decided with her clear head she was done drinking. I think she hit bottom and once sober got the wakeup call. She's one of the lucky ones.
Anyway, you were a very crucial part in all of this. I appreciate you taking a chance on my mom. Giving her a compassionate ear and guidance. Thank you most for advocating for her and keeping her in the hospital getting the help she needed as long as possible. That saved her life. Please pass on my gratitude to everyone else involved- doctors, nurses, social workers. Keep taking chances on people, you never know when you will save a life.
Love, light and good health to you and yours this new year!
