My son was hospitalized for a couple of days at CHNOLA, and Melissa was our night nurse. Her passion, dedication, and hard work were highly evident. She made our stay so comfortable and she attended to our every need. Her timing for checking IV meds was impeccable. She was always right on time to clear beeping machines and check vitals. Often times she timed it so perfectly that we rarely heard beeps. We never had to wait on her, because she was always there on time with a warm smile, a kind heart, and a helpful hand. She always helped to explain any questions or concerns I had about treatment or meds or anything really. She made us feel like we were her own family or friends. She would go out of her way to try to find food for my particularly picky eater. She brought things like blankets and socks before we even had to ask for them.
Having your child hospitalized for any reason can be very scary. But because she was our nurse, I didn't worry. I knew that my child and I were in good hands. Patients who have her attending to them are extremely blessed because we definitely were. Her love and passion for this job were displayed in every way. We could not have asked for better care. Thank you for taking such great care of us. We are forever grateful.
