My husband has been a patient at the wound care clinic for almost two months. When my husband had his regular visit to treat a venous ulcer on his right foot, they noticed one on his left lateral foot. This wound became infected so an x-ray had to be done. The doctor immediately had him admitted to the hospital. This came as a shock to both of us. The possibility of losing part of his foot or leg was truly frightening. Then we met Melissa, who was my husband’s nurse for the next three days. She is all a patient could wish for in a nurse. She is competent, caring, efficient, and professional, all of these qualities one could expect from this RN’s chosen job. Melissa is so much more. She has a great sense of humor and is genuinely friendly toward all patients. Her attitude put us all at ease immediately which made the whole experience more bearable. We both looked forward to seeing her every day. I never asked how long she has worked at Mercy Clermont, but Melissa is an excellent asset.
