I have worked with Melissa since my very first day here at IU Health Tipton Hospital. She was my very first contact at 3 am, after I couldn’t get in the north employee entrance nearly 20 years ago. Melissa is so easy to work with, and she has an infectious laugh that always makes me smile.

This summer, she took care of my daughter in the ER. She was nine at the time and had never been to an ER. She unfortunately had a fishing lure lodged in her eyelid, cue the eews! Melissa helped settle her down as soon as we got there. Melissa gave her a toy, laughed with her, teased her in a good way, and comforted her in all the right ways. She almost had her convinced that having a fishing lure in your eye was no big deal!

Long story short, the lure came out thanks to the doctor, and Melissa and my daughter came out with barely any evidence of the ordeal. She’s even a little disappointed that she doesn’t have a scar to go with the story! My daughter thinks Melissa is the best nurse in the business, and so do I!
