I just want to thank all of the staff at Phoenix Children's. Our daughter received a very new and intimidating diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes. The reason I am writing this is to thank Nurse Melissa for everything she did for me and my family. As you can imagine we were all terrified. No one in our family has experience with diabetes. Melissa made sure we were all comfortable and informed of how to handle our new lifestyle. We will forever be grateful for the amount of compassion she gave us. She is truly a blessing.

Melissa was my son's nurse. She came in and asked me what I would like to do as far as my son's care. One of the things that stood out about her is she was efficient when it came to his care. Machines were not continually beeping, and she always asked if we both needed anything, and if we did, she would get it right away. She kept a close eye on my son and made sure he was ok. I was always assured that if I was not here she had him taken care of. She has done an excellent job. I appreciated the fact that she didn't tell me what was going to happen regarding my son's care. She asked me and she offered suggestions. I think other nurses can take a lesson from her. I definitely commend and appreciate the care that she administered for my son.
