Melissa had a patient who was actively dying and had no family members at his side. The patient asked that she stay with him until he passed. Melissa works nights and her shift was over at 7:30 am. She stayed with the patient until 3:00 pm when he passed without being paid. She did this not because she had to but because it was the compassionate thing to do.
