Melissa sees MHA patients to help ensure their success with care transition. She recently was working with a 93 YO patient planning to DC to a rehab center. When she found out the patient did not have the appropriate clothing and footwear for rehab, and the patient's spouse was unable to obtain them, Melissa went shopping for this patient with her own resources and purchased clothing and shoes for this patient to take to the rehab center. The patient became tearful when Melissa presented her with these gifts, and stated "no one has ever done anything like this for me".

Melissa embodies our mission to serve the underserved. She consistently goes above and beyond to help remove barriers to success in care transition for her patients. She is truly an asset to the Mercy team, and a blessing to her patients.
