I was transferred to the Labor and Delivery floor on Christmas Day where Melissa Braun was my nurse. From the moment I was her patient she made me feel comfortable and safe. Of course, I was depressed being here on Christmas away from my family, but with a genuine heart and even a small gesture of pure kindness, like the Christmas tree she brought to my room, I felt better. All should take a lesson on empathy and kindness from Melissa, the world just may be a better place.
