I came to the ER miscarrying one of my twins. Melissa was my nurse at that point. She answered all my questions and put my fears at ease regarding how the baby would or could be handled (i.e. burial options). She also made it possible for all the grandparents to see the baby. She was very kind and sympathetic.
I was again brought to the ER 8 days later, hemorrhaging and ultimately lost my other baby. Melissa was very sympathetic with my physical pain- making sure I had medicine to help with nausea, pain, and anxiety. She also took time to wipe down my body, which was covered in blood, I wasn't expecting her to do that, but it was very much appreciated, and it felt like she saw me as a person with feelings.

Melissa took incredible care of my wife both time we came to the ER. Even though the situation was horrible for us having and seeing Melissa again was extremely comforting. She took great care of the details from helping manage my wife's pain, to ensuring that our parents were able to see their grandchildren who had passed. She cleaned my wife without anyone asking and it meant so much to us that she dove in and did things like that without anyone asking. We are so grateful.
