MICU nurse Melissa Brownlee, RN, has been named the first recipient of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses at Jefferson’s Methodist Hospital. The award, presented during a surprise visit to her unit is part of the DAISY Foundation's program to recognize the amazing work performed by nurses every day. Jefferson’s Methodist Hospital plans to honor one of its nurses with the award each quarter.
In her nomination, Melissa was recognized for her strength both in situations at work and at home, and for being the kind of person that does not think twice to help others.
The happiness and warmth she radiates is truly infectious to fellow staff and patients. She not only strives to be a better person, but she inspires others to want to be too.
