Melissa Bryant, CCRN, BSN, MSN, RN

I would like to nominate Melissa for the DAISY Award for the incredible leadership, compassion, and support she shows to both her staff and patients every single day. As our Assistant Nurse Manager, Melissa consistently goes above and beyond to make sure our unit runs smoothly, no matter the circumstances. When our floor is short-staffed, Melissa never hesitates to step in and help wherever she is needed. She is always willing to jump onto the floor, assist with patient care, answer call lights, help nurses, and ensure patients are receiving the care they deserve. She leads by example and never asks her staff to do something she would not do herself.

What truly sets Melissa apart is how understanding and accommodating she is with her staff. She recognizes that everyone has lives and responsibilities outside of work, and she always tries her best to support her team while still keeping the unit functioning efficiently. She balances compassion with strong leadership in a way that keeps morale up and creates a positive work environment, even during stressful times. Melissa genuinely cares about our unit and the people who work on it. She makes her staff feel valued, supported, and heard. Her dedication, work ethic, and kindness do not go unnoticed, and she is truly the best Assistant Nurse Manager anyone could ask for. Our unit is stronger because of her, and I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this recognition.
