Melissa was the primary care nurse for a postpartum patient which the physician had written a discharge order for patient to be sent home. Melissa shared with the provider several concerns she had and also the family was saying that the patient was not herself.
Melissa called the provider several times sharing her increasing concerns and the provider ordered labs to be done that showed an issue that needed to be addressed before the patient could be discharged home. After additional treatment, the patient was looking and feeling great again.
Melissa was the #1 patient advocate for the patient's best interest and care!
