My father, who was a picture of health for 66 years, suddenly had a stroke due to a blood clot that traveled to his brain stem. As you can imagine my entire family was in shock and despair. We rushed to his bedside in the ICU after a complicated procedure to remove the clot. Melissa stood out amongst the staff of nurses who worked with us caring for my father. She went above and beyond to make him comfortable and answer all the questions we had as a concerned family. She was so compassionate and it was obvious she paid close attention to detail for all of my father’s medical needs. She went well beyond the call of duty you would expect from a nurse.
