I would like to first of all thank my nurse whole heartedly for going above and beyond the standard care I anticipated receiving yesterday.  I was given the diagnosis of “PE” in a very impersonal way via a phone call by a doctor who was caring for me. Upon receiving the news I was extremely scared and felt like I had nobody for moral support.  But soon I told my nurse my fears and how terrified I was to go home because I didn’t fully understand what was going on with me.  

She immediately stepped into action and contacted all the appropriate people to help me advocate for myself and to ensure that I wouldn’t be discharged in my current state of health.  I have never known a kinder nurse or more caring person.  She genuinely listened to me and took immediate steps to let me know she heard my concerns and fears.  She did her very best to console me and help me calm down.  I think she is the kind of nurse everyone deserves to have despite being extremely busy with other patients.  She made a point to let me know she cared and continued checking on me to ensure I was okay.  She has a heart of gold, real human compassion, and an ability to relate to others. 

I would go as far as to say that by her direct actions concerning my care, she may have saved my life! I don’t take that lightly! She deserves to be acknowledged for her outstanding attention to detail, generosity, and compassion as a nurse. She has mastered the ability to read her patients’ needs and act promptly and accordingly, not only to ensure our safety but also to go the extra mile and ensure that we are receiving the best care possible from all who are involved. She stands out above everyone else here because she listened to me at a time when it was critical to the outcome of my health.  I will always remember her not only for saving my life but also for her genuine love and compassion.
