I am currently fighting breast cancer. I came into the ER feeling my worst. Melissa came on when shifts changed and she instantly catered to my needs and concerns. She was very compassionate the entire time I was in the ER. I explained to her my concerns about having my port accessed and she made sure she did everything possible to keep me calm and to trust her.
I have never received that type of comfort, compassion or concern from a healthcare professional. I've always felt like it was all about the money in healthcare. Clearly, this young lady has shown me differently. The crazy part is that this must be her demeanor all the time because how does she know who to pick and choose? She is truly a blessing to me and I feel like "thank you" isn't enough. Give this young lady a raise!!
