It was difficult to know how much the patient and his wife understood the gravity of his condition after his angiogram. But, Melissa worked closely with them, answering questions as they came up after the doctor left. She even delivered the bad news that Dr. P received confirmation that surgery would not benefit the patient. When Melissa found out that the patient’s wife didn’t drive and they live in Roseburg, she was able to secure a room at the Family House for the night after his recovery. She and I drove them over and Melissa went inside to assist them with check-in. To ensure they knew where to eat, Melissa showed them the grocery store and restaurants within walking distance. The family was very grateful and kept thanking Melissa for all the help and kindness she showed them.
