Melissa is fairly new to the role as a clinical coordinator but was a staff nurse on the floor prior. She comes to work every day with a smile on her face ready to face whatever Kahn 5 may bring for the day. She interacts with patients, families, and peers with a respectful attitude. Melissa always displays a positive attitude despite the situation she may find herself in. It has not been the easiest road transitioning from a staff nurse to a leadership position, but she has grown in the position and has adapted to it well. Since starting in her new position, we have hired quite a few new nurses. Melissa has made herself accessible and frequently reaches out to assure they are feeling comfortable with where they are in their orientation process or just checks in to see how their day is going. Melissa is not afraid to help in any sort of emergency situation, she was the first one to jump in and help with an RRT I had a few weeks ago. No matter how busy she may be, Melissa always takes the time to round on her patients and assure that their needs are being met. Melissa is an extremely compassionate and motivated woman. She motivates me and our staff to be better nurses each and every day.
