Melissa was nominated by a patient's family and caregivers. The patient was a 54-year-old individual with Down's Syndrome and multiple medical issues such as epilepsy, cardiac problems, difficulty amulating, etc. The caregiver spent nearly all of the daytime hours at his bedside during this hospitalization and was a first hand witness to the care Melissa provided. She stated that Melissa provided exceptional care to the patient and herself. She always had the patient's care and comfort in mind. Melissa advocated for the patient to help manage his pain levels so that he could tolerate wound care and other procedures and she always kept the family and caregivers "in the loop" providing them with morning updates and any changes to the patient's care. 'Melissa is truly an asset to CMC!' states the caregiver and we could not agree more!
