Melissa Darling, RN

I came into the ER and was subsequently admitted; this was terrifying. My husband was unable to be with me which made things worse. When I arrived on the 4th floor, I met Melissa for the first time. She was friendly and attentive to my needs. Melissa saw I was in pain and immediately reached out to the doctor for orders to alleviate my suffering. That was just the start of the excellent care I received from Melissa. I was scared and confused. She calmed me down and advocated to the urologist the need for pain control. She was quick in administering medications and ensuring I had everything I needed to be comfortable. Prior to surgery, she prayed with me, which was something I desperately needed. When my husband arrived, she updated him on all medications and conditions. When Melissa was on shift, I felt safe and cared for. I could not have had a positive experience if it wasn’t for Melissa. She found out through conversation that I liked frogs, the next morning Melissa brought me a little frog that I could hold when I was scared and it calmed me down immediately. These may seem like little or normal things to some, but to me, it meant the world. The hospital and I are blessed to have Melissa!
