Words will never be able to express how much I appreciate Dawn. My Dad had been sick with COPD for many years, but he kept me going as the bookkeeper for my store for the last 17 years! He suffered Congestive Heart Failure and was nearing the end. After several days in the hospital he reached peace of mind. Although he will be greatly missed as a wonderful father, friend, and bookkeeper, I know he is no longer suffering. Our family had an incredible team of nurses from Baptist Health of Paducah. Many of the nurses know me from the Uniform Store, however the respect and kindness shown my Dad will never be forgotten.

Dawn Mohler is the nurse we will never forget. She displayed amazing acts of kindness and compassion, not only for my Father, but for the family as well. Dawn treated my Father with dignity and respect his last days. She was patient and explained each process throughout his final days. As the time came to remove the bi pap machine we decided to step out for dinner. She promised my Mom she would not leave his side. She kept that promise, it was only a matter of minutes, as I ran back to the hospital and she was at the door with open arms. This nurse who I had only seen her name on paper as a wonderful customer in my shop, suddenly became the family member I needed to guide me through his passing. She is an inspiration to the Nursing Profession. Dawn is truly a nurse who makes a difference in today's world!

After many conversations, I learned Dawn is continuing her education to obtain her Bachelor's Degree. After working long shifts, she goes home to work on assignments. I can only imagine how difficult her days must be. I admire her aspiration to further her education in nursing. I am personally contacting our uniform vendors that have a scholarship opportunity. Many times scholarships are awarded to new students coming into the profession. Dawn deserves recognition for what she brings to Baptist Health to patients and their families.

We will never forget her tender touch with our Father, and how she opened her heart and arms to this family in our time of need.
