On numerous occasions I have seen Melissa's kindness during patient care. She is always on the ball and makes sure her patients are safe and are receiving the best possible care. She is versatile throughout the Emergency Department whenever she works. She has no problems taking care of a 2 month old baby in pediatrics that and can turn around and go into acute care and take care of a 90 year old in heart failure. She is quick on her toes and always willing to lend a hand to a fellow nurse or tech that is in need.
Along with Melissa being an amazing nurse while she is working in the ED, she is involved in many councils and is a highly motivated advocate for the ED and its staff. She puts in numerous hours off the clock to attend meetings and work on projects with the goal in mind to make our department a better place for the patients and staff. She currently is working on a very extensive project involving the safety of the ED's staff and has spent a lot of time with security, management, and researching other hospitals' policies in order to make our hospital environment a safer environment. She is an outstanding member of our Emergency Department and we are all lucky to have her care so much for us and our patients. I am very lucky to work alongside her. Melissa is a true DAISY Nurse.
