I can't thank Mel enough for the care, concern and loving attention given to me during a difficult procedure. Just her hand was enough to calm me.
Mel went out of her way to visit me the next day, which she didn't have to do, but she did. The minutes she stayed with me, she talked to me as friends do. This was her downtime and she made the time pass so quickly.
She was a bright spot in my day, as she helped me cope with anxiety, some pain, and boredom. She will always be remembered for that.
On this particular day, the Short Stay Unit was very busy. Despite the high volume of patients and busyness of the Unit, Mel took time to visit with this patient and eased her anxiety. Mel is a valued member of our team. She is kind, considerate and takes excellent care of our patients.
