Where do I start? My daughter, who had cancer first, was given Melissa’s name. Anytime my daughter needed anything all she had to do was call Melissa’s number. Her questions were answered promptly, and she always went out of her way to help. Melissa has never, to this day, ever met my daughter in person. So, when my husband got stomach cancer, we were so lost in the cancer process. We were not getting appointments we were very unsure of our Oncologist. Just totally at a loss. My daughter gave me Melissa’s number. She had been so impressed with Melissa that she said to me, “Just call her and she will help.” Melissa totally went out of her way to help us and is still going out of her way to help! I called her when I wasn’t sure whether I should take D to the hospital one day. She made sure that his doctor who had gone home to Texas was notified that he was in the hospital. I can’t think of everything right now that she has done for us. My daughter and I would also love to nominate her for this award. Melissa is an absolute angel in the scary world of cancer. I just met Melissa in person this morning in person. She heard my husband’s name and came out and introduced herself. Just as sweet and awesome in person
