In the nomination, the patient’s daughter described how Galvin patiently and thoroughly answered the family’s questions “around the clock.”

“I was very impressed with the way she cared for my father. It was with a lot more gentleness than I had every seen before,” she wrote. “We had all wanted to take our father to Boston hospitals because that is where my brothers work, but because of the service that Melissa provided to our father, we feel relieved that he went to Winchester Hospital.
