Melissa Gollnik, RN

I was diagnosed with stage 3 throat cancer in September. I have a 7-week treatment plan of chemo and radiation. Melissa is amazing; her kindness is so sincere. Not only did she take excellent care of me for my chemo treatments, but she treated me as a whole person. She always called me by name, asked about my children and my pets, and allowed me to vent when I was emotional. Cried with me, hugged me when my whole world was consumed with cancer 24/7. She was my light at the end of the tunnel. She was able to see beyond me being a patient and treated me like I was the most important person to walk through Infusion doors. She connected with my six-year-old and was able to calm his fears and answer questions on his level. She took away a lot of fear and anxiety from him. I can't say enough about how amazing she is. I'm on my last chemo treatment today, and I'm really going to miss her smile, her beautiful heart, and her genuine kindness.

I would like to nominate Melissa Gollnik for a DAISY Award. I have been coming to Tomah Infusion since January 2021, and the care I received there is beyond my belief. Melissa treats me as if I was her own family member. She also goes over and beyond her normal duties to make sure I receive the care I need and make me feel comfortable.
