In January, we learned that after 28 weeks of pregnancy, we lost our son, H. What we'll always be grateful for, however, was our experience working and sharing so many hours with Melissa. Her compassion and support helped us through the most difficult and painful experience of our lives. With my husband several states away for work, she made me feel comfortable and at ease until he arrived almost 12 hours later. Melissa just completed her shift after our second night in the hospital but chose to stay until I delivered H. We were so fortunate that she stayed to be a part of welcoming our son into the world. It's always difficult when we speak to friends and family about our experience. But every time we do, we mention how incredible our experience was with Melissa. She made a lasting impression on my family, my husband, and me, and we'll never be able to thank her enough for that. We hope she understands how important she is to us, and we hope to see her again someday.
