Melissa, fondly known as Missy, started with Davita as a PCT and worked through nursing school.  We have seen her true dedication to patients and fellow teammates throughout her tenure.  She takes a whole health approach with each patient, to ensure that she is giving them the best possible care. 

In addition to proactively problem solving the needs of her patients, Missy is always looking out for her teammates and treating them like family.  With the earned respect from both patients and teammates, Missy can talk through problems or situations open and honestly to get to the root cause and work on solutions.  

Recently, Missy was precepting a nurse who had started with Davita but had been in dialysis for several years. After her time with Missy, this nurse said, “I want to be just like Missy as a nurse.” Her attention to detail, genuine love for people, and determination to make everyone’s day better are palpable when you walk into Missy’s clinic.  

 Although dialysis is not an enjoyable experience, knowing that Missy is their nurse, the patients light up when they walk in.  Their day is brighter, and they feel confident in the care they are receiving because of the person who is providing it!
