Melissa Lecator was recognized for her attention to detail and compassionate care of an elderly gentleman who presented to the Emergency Department with chest pain. The patient's wife, a retired nurse, stated that they were under stress when they arrived in the ED. She said that Melissa was "bright, friendly, efficient, caring, and a blessing that morning. I am always looking for quality nursing. Melissa had that quality and more. She always explained procedures, was interested in our lives...constantly kept us informed as to test results. In a busy ED, Melissa was a blessing, and how refreshing in this busy world today".
