I would like to express our sincere thanks and gratitude for the care that was received by my husband during his hospital stay in March. The nursing staff were very warm and caring, knowledgeable with explanation to our questions and with all his tests and medications. The nursing assistants were very attentive and helpful to us as well, and we are very thankful for their help. When we heard about the DAISY Award program for nursing recognition, a few nurses came to mind who we believe deserve to be nominated and receive this special recognition. One stands out, Melissa Lind.

Melissa is an extraordinary nurse whose warm personality provided ease to us and makes us feel at home, very knowledgeable and explains tests and procedures thoroughly. She is also very keen in terms of my husband's care and is very sharp - pays attention to any significant issues or changes that we may need to be made aware of.

All of the staff were wonderful, but we believe Melissa stood out, and therefore deserves to be recognized for her wonderful qualities and her dedication to provide the best patient experience here at GAMC.

It is with pleasure to write about the most dedicated, motivated, self-directed, compassionate nurse that I have had the pleasure of working with for the past few years. Melissa is a role model to the other nurses on our team. Her customer service skills are excellent, she has a strong ability to prioritize and problem-solve, and she accepts new challenges with a very positive attitude regardless of its difficulties. Melissa frequently receives compliments from her patients and families during my rounds. She treats her patients and their families as if they were her own. Melissa is a Shining Star in NTU. We all love her.
