I recently had a CABG performed. Melissa was one of the nurses who cared for me during my recovery in the SICU. From the onset, I’ve been blown away by her knowledge, compassion, and professionalism. She definitely has gone above and beyond the standard of care that I expected. I’ve watched her arrive early for her shifts and stay long after the times she should have gone home. She has helped my recovery with her positive demeanor and frankly, her kindness. She’s also been able to explain what is happening during my recovery, every step of the way. I have some medical experience and have worked in ICUs in the past and honestly, she has blown me away with her performance. She is one person that has truly found her calling in life and I will forever be grateful for her.

In my worst health scare and being alone, she was a sunshine. She always explained what was happening and stood up for her patients’ rights. She went above and beyond, from medicine to just being a lending ear. She’s very intelligent and schooled in her field. Always left me with a hug and encouragement for tomorrow. My family fell in love with her instantly. I wish your whole hospital was filled up with more Melissa McCartys. I hope you know the treasured blessing she is.
