Melissa McPeek, RN

Missy is one of the most compassionate nurses I have had the pleasure of working with. She goes above and beyond for her patients and her team every day. During a situation involving a grieving family, she used her combined OR and OB knowledge, along with her good-hearted nature, to comfort a father in mourning and advocate for him and his child. She exceeded expectations by talking with and supporting the family while escalating the issue appropriately. Afterward, she informed staff of how the situation should have been handled. Missy used this unfortunate circumstance as a learning experience. This is just one example of who she is. Day to day, she is an ambitious nurse with a wealth of knowledge. She is always going a step further for her team by lending a helping hand during difficult cases, stocking, or putting away unused products. She does all this and more with a smile. Her fun-loving and optimistic personality makes her someone you want to work with and be around. Missy exemplifies everything the DAISY Award represents. Our patients and our team are better because of her.
