Melissa Milko, RN

I unexpectedly underwent a spinal fusion after coming to the ED with intense pain. I haven't always had the easiest time being heard or believed with my back pain since I'm only 26. So sometimes I have a hard time overcoming anxiety in the hospital. Melissa was my nurse overnight for several days of my stay, and I have truly never felt so safe. I fully trusted that my comfort and care were her top priority. The nights that she was my nurse were the only times I slept soundly, because I felt comfortable and safe, and was able to let go and relax. Getting my medications on time was one of the biggest parts of my care, and she was always on top of it. She checked in to make sure I was getting everything I needed. Aside from all her amazing skills as a nurse, Melissa is such a bright, warm person to be around. She went beyond her role as a nurse and was a source of comfort and support for not only me, but also for my mom and girlfriend. I could not have asked for a better nurse on my care team. I will always be grateful for Melissa turning such a heavy, scary process into one I'll remember with a smile. Thank you, Melissa!
