Melissa is professional, knowledgeable, caring, and devoted to her patients, she works tirelessly and never sits down.
Over the past five years, my 87 and a half-year-old mother had several trips to La Porte for a broken hip, fractures in her back, fractured tibia, and now a fractured femur. Her osteoporosis is very bad. From the moment we met Melissa, we knew she was going to be the best nurse we have ever encountered. My mom knew immediately that Melissa was going to be there for her 12-16 hours a day. She is professional, knowledgeable, caring, and devoted to her patients, she works tirelessly and never sits down. We have seen her teach students and mentor other staff. I heard from other staff, that whenever they are short-staffed she is willing to come in and work extra shifts. She explained procedures and helped us understand how we could best help our mother after she was discharged from NW Health. We will always be thankful and recommend this hospital for the wonderful care our loved one had while she was here. Mostly due to Melissa Garwood.
