...Having a family member admitted to hospital can be a very scary/stressful time. When we arrived to the unit we were greeted by the nurse assigned to our loved one. It was evident from the moment we met Missy that she was not only very knowledgeable but a very caring nurse as well.

Our family member had to be put in a specialized bed to help with the severity of the illness, this was very overwhelming. I can't begin to tell you how relieved we were to find out how experienced Missy was working with the specialized bed, along with the fact that she was experienced in taking care of patients with the condition our loved one was facing. Missy kept us up to date on all of his care which was so helpful. It was brought to our attention that Missy was going to be the nurse assigned for the next several days to care for our loved one. This to us was a blessing.

I know I can speak for my whole family when I say we were blessed to have such a wonderful nurse looking over our loved one. Not only does Missy Myrtle have the experience and knowledge needed to work in a critical care unit, she also has something I feel is as important, Missy has a wonderful bedside manner. I also work in the health care field. I know compassion is not something that can be taught it is something that comes from the heart.

On behalf of my whole family, I want to thank Missy for all she did for our loved one. This unit at Kent Hospital is blessed to have her as part of their team. I can't think of someone more deserving of the Daisy Award Missy Myrtle.
