An elderly female patient in her 80s had recurrent infections. She didn’t have a support system and stated she was completely alone. The recommended treatment would cost the patient $250 per month. That was not feasible for the patient. An online pharmacy was offered to the patient as a much more cost-effective option, but she stated she wasn’t tech-savvy enough to navigate it. Missy took it upon herself to call the patient and schedule a time for her to come to the clinic so Missy could help her set up an account. She spent an hour with the patient, navigating the website and ultimately ordering the prescription with automatic refills.
