Melissa was previously a staff member at CHP in the Cath lab and transferred to Passavant ED in 2019. At the beginning of July, ED leadership received an email from leadership at CHP Cath lab explaining a challenging and critical staffing situation they were currently experiencing in their department. Her skills and time were requested for anything, help that she might be able to offer to this specialized service line, being a previously experienced staff member of that unit. She did not hesitate to jump in to help CHP out as much as possible, she had said, "I just feel like this is the right thing to do for those kids."
For the next week, Melissa worked alongside a team at CHP and was instrumental in completing 9 urgent/emergency cases at CHP Cath lab. She is a role model for the nursing profession and her positive attitude and willingness to help in any situation has made her an invaluable member of the team. We are proud of the work that she completed while assisting CHP and are honored that she is part of our team at Passavant ED.
