My wife was brought to the hospital for a routine procedure. Some complications led to her being admitted to the ICU. It was very confusing, and I didn’t fully know what was happening. Missy came and got me. I had been waiting in my car. She brought me to the ICU, where she explained that my wife was in critical condition. Through all the chaos happening around me, Missy stayed with me the whole time. She spoke to my family on the phone when I had no words. She even spoke to my vet to tell them we wouldn’t be making it to an appointment. She stayed late after her shift to talk to my family at my wife’s side. The next day, she came into the room and said she would be her nurse, and I was so relieved. Missy sat with me as the doctor told me there was nothing more they could do. She was there when they removed her breathing tube and knelt down next to me as I said goodbye to my wife. Her support meant the world to me, and I can’t thank her enough. She deserves to be recognized as the angel that she is.
