I had the absolute pleasure of having Melissa as my nurse in triage and again for my delivery four days later. When I had her again as my nurse, I almost cried! She has an amazing way to make you feel comfortable and at ease almost immediately. I was terrified to give birth and even be in triage. Friday night gave me anxiety until Melissa blessed me with her presence. It was 6:30 PM at the end of her long shift and she spent the time explaining the whole process of induction, labor, and medication options. She went above and beyond making me comfortable and easing my fears. Even though I was sent home that night I felt 100% better about what was to come.

Flash forward to my laboring day I was blessed again to have Melissa all day with me during my induction. She was a constant presence providing positivity, comfort, education, humor, and distraction. Her bedside manner is amazing, and she makes you feel more like a friend than a patient. She knew exactly what to say and do to make me feel better, especially during my epidural which took longer than expected. She was my literal shoulder to cry on, my hand to hold, even over my husband! I had such a positive experience because of her and I am so grateful! Melissa is a gem of a nurse and person. She deserves all the praise, recognition, movie tickets, and even parking spots. Thank you, Melissa! I will never forget the experience you gave me - I might actually do it again one day.
