Melissa recently provided pre- and post-op care for a young woman who came for a Suction D&C for a 15 week fetal demise. After getting this patient ready for surgery, Melissa requested to continue caring for her patient after surgery due to the complexity of the situation and the needs identified pre-op. Melissa worked with the Family Support Nurse from OB to provide spiritual and emotional support and closure for their loss. In an ambulatory setting, Melissa went above and beyond to provide continuum of care. She exemplified the “Art of Caring” for this family during a very difficult time.
