Melissa is an exceptional leader who inspires all those whom she works with to perform up to their potential and beyond to support and promote student success. Melissa is one of those people who truly wants the best for others including students, faculty and staff. She works tirelessly to mentor others. Under Melissa's leadership, an article was published in the Journal of Community and Public Health Nursing detailing an interprofessional model for the holistic academic progression of nurses. Melissa could have written this article herself but instead she worked with non-faculty in an empowering way, highlighting and honoring the importance of their contribution to the success of our program. Melissa also inspired her students as she taught Palliative Care and Trauma Informed Care by sharing her personal experiences and insightful feedback with each assignment.
