I always think what an awesome nurse Melissa is - how she is a team player, always willing to step in and help out, even when she is in the middle of five thousand other things; how she always remains calm and positive and smiles through the craziest of days. But today, she was just downright amazing with a difficult memory care patient who had fallen and broken her hip, that I just needed to send a quick note. She took great care and time in helping this patient, not only with the physical mobility aspect but also talking and reassuring the patient and her family member. She always is 'present' with the patient and family and has great nursing skills but also the compassion that shines through in her interactions. She makes those around her want to be better at what they do - just thought she deserved a long-overdue shout out from the rehab staff.

Melissa is the hardest working floor nurse I know. She is dedicated to advocating for her patients and her coworkers. I am always glad to work with her because I feel so supported. She has provided great leadership on the medical-surgical floor in such a caring and supportive way. She has the ability to lead with compassion and strength and I feel honored to work with her on a regular basis.
